Collins by now I'm going to hit you in the face with a Bat-A-Rang and force you to watch Batman & Robin for four days straight. She's definitely a champ...

xXSmack! SpeedComics Vol. 6ix X Se7en - The Smack|Cuts EditionXx

So a while ago, I posted up the chopping block art I did for Rencen Coolbeanz's upcoming album. What I forgot is that I had actually filmed the making of process (on the good computer before it decided to crash on me). So instead of letting them collect dust I thought I'd put them together in the form of a new "SMACK! SpeedComics" video. So here...we...GO!

The Revolutionary Times' animal correspondents finally come face-to-face with the country's lack of employment.

xXShowin' Love - Flaco ShalomXx

So a while ago, fellow artist Flaco Shalom came to me with a offer - to take his art and his stories and transform them in a 12 part comic strip. So with his pencils, I've been assigned to ink, color, and letter the comic aptly entitled "Undeathable," which all concludes to Flaco's clothing line to be released later this year. And I gotta say, it's a bit different for me. I'm used to working on my work alone so crafting another's to completion makes me understand how a comic inker feels.

Along with the strips Flaco has put together video for each strip to further aid to the impact of the story at hand. And without further adieu, I present to you said story (so far)...

And with that I'm Ghost...face

xXShowin' Love - JYoung The General "Black History Year, Vol. 1"Xx

Why yes, I DID design the cover!

Two night before the release of his new EP (executive produced by Nick Speed) the homie JYoung The General hit me up (well, the best friend/his manager Ketchum did on his behalf) to design the cover for the project. I wanted to reflect the feel of the music so the inclusion of the black power fist and painterly brush stroked Pan-African flag colors. As for the music itself, well I'll let J's nice write-up explain that to you...
Black History Month has ended, but why not have a continuous celebration, even beyond February? A Detroit emcee and Michigan State University journalism graduate, Jahshua “JYoung The General” Smith has spearheaded Black History Year –a series of songs aimed at educating black history in a contemporary, but yet entertaining approach throughout the entire year. JYoung teams up with hip-hop music producer, Nick Speed and clothing line and sponsor, Dangerous Negro Apparel, to promote black history in sets of 365 days instead o…

Cold Men Young - Champagne Nights/Red Stripe Budget DP
I've been designing a few album/mixtape covers since I graduated, and this one of the first projects (the first being the Detroit CYDI joint). Come April, the group known for their BARS! is getting ready to release their project (or DP "Digital Play" as they refer to it) Champagne Nights/Red Stripe Budget out for the people. And since they are IV approved, they hit me up a couple months back to see if I wanted to design a cover for them. I'm a fan so of course the answer was yes. So since Mic Write, the "Luda" of the group (HA!) dropped the cover this week I decided it was good to go on the blog as well...

The album is expected to drop on April 1st, and no that's no joke. Well, if BARS! is jokes then this about to be the "In Living Color" of Detroit hip-hop. (Ha, I made a funny).

Also, the crew JUST released their "Jackin' for Beats" mode version of the Gorillaz single "Sty…
