Showing posts from February, 2016

I finally bit the bullet and made an actual site for The RED Series. It'll be the one-shop stop for everything about the books, past, present, and future. The Tumblr will still act as the blog but now there's this as another avenue as well. Go check it out!

WeDraw: Alexa Foley

This week's theme over at WeDraw is gender swapping action heroes so naturally I was either gonna go with Die Hard or Beverly Hills Cop. Axel, er, Alexa Foley won this round.

The Watercolor Experiments: John Wick

"People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer, but yeah, I'm thinking I'm back."
Done first in watercolor then scanned and messed around with digitally in Photoshop.

WeDraw: Pee-Wee x Cowboy Curtis

Done for this week's "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" tag over at WeDraw on Vine.

RED: Chapter Two x Peep Game Comix

The digital version of the recently released RED: CHAPTER TWO (LOVE + LUST) is now also available and a part of the great, growing library of Peep Game Comix! I appreciate the team up there for embracing the book very much so. You can get a copy of it yourself by clicking here.
Also don't forget the physical versions of the rest of the RED Series as well.
THE RED BOOK (CHAPTER ONE): Physical ($25) | eBook ($10) RED: CHAPTER TWO (LOVE + LUST): Physical ($25.99) RED: WARMTH: Physical ($15.99) | eBook (Vol. 1 | Vol. 2) ($8.99)

Cover Design: Black Excellence

My brothers in BLAT! James Gardin and Jahshua Smith link back up to drop this anthem calling for nothing but black excellence and aptly so for Black History Month. Cover designed by myself.

The Watercolor Experiments - Dilla Dawg

February is considered J Dilla Month in celebration of the work and excellence of Detroit producer/emcee James "J Dilla" Yancey who passed away in 2006. If you're no stranger to my work then you've obviously see me pay tribute to him many times. Since I'm starting to get into experimenting and building up my skill with watercolor I tested it out in another tribute. This time I scanned the original and messed around with digitally in Photoshop.

Watercolor Testing (NSFW)

I've been wanting to try my hand at getting away from digital for a little bit and into actual watercolor  painting. I was inspired by frequently seeing the works of Louie Chin and how he infuses watercolor and line art. And it also serves as a testing of an idea I have if I were to do a third RED Book as well. Here are some of the ones I've done so far.
